Getting a Hair Cut?

   0 Ratings

Getting your haircut on a favourable day will make it healthier, accelerate its growth and won't affect the energy flow in the body. On a neutral day, energies are balanced and do not have either a positive or negative effect. Getting your hair trimmed on an unfavorable day can slow down hair growth and have a negative effect on hair's condition.

Key Recommendations:

If you are to cut your hair during the growing Moon, it will grow faster

Haircut during the Waning Moon will slow down hair growth but will strengthen the roots and reduce hair loss

You shouldn't cut your hair straight after having a meal

In total, the Lunar calendar has 30 tithis, which are lunar days. They are divided into two periods of 15 days. In each of those two periods, there are Lunar days that are unfavorable for haircuts: these are the 4th, 9th, and 14th day, as well as Amavasya - a New Moon.

It is not recommended to have a haircut on the Full moon, 6th lunar day, as well as on the days of Surya-Sankranti when the sun transits from one zodiac sign to another.

The skill of your hairdresser and their personal attitude towards you is very important too. In Jyotish, it is recommended to have a haircut from a master of the same gender.

Haircutting has to be done only in the Morning between 6:00 am to 11:45 Am only. This is exceptional at Holy places like Tirupathi, Prayag and Varanasi, etc.

Always first do shaving & then shall go for Haircutting this will give good fortune.

Following Thithi to be avoided for hair or nail cutting is Chaturthi, Shasti, Ashtami, Navami, Ekadashi, Amavasya and Poornima.

Sunday is the day dedicated to the Sun god or Surya Dev. In the epic Mahabharata, it is stated that because this day is associated with the Sun, cutting hair and nails on this day indicates the destruction of wealth, mental health and dharma.

Monday-Average

Somvar or Monday is related to the Moon in Hinduism. The celestial star – Moon has a direct effect on the human psyche. Therefore, cutting nails or hair on this day is highly inauspicious as it is believed that it can have a deeply negative impact on the individual’s mental health and even the child’s health.

Tuesday-Very Very Bad

Cutting hair or shaving the beard on a Tuesday or Mangalwar is highly inauspicious. This is because such activities are linked to shortening of one’s life.

Wednesday -Excellent

Nail Cutting, Shaving and hair Cutting on Wednesday is Very Good for wealth and happy family life and Lakshmi blesses us with success and progress.

Thursday-Bad

Thursday or Guruwar is the day dedicated to Lord Vishnu. On this day, if one happens to cut their nails or hair it is considered as an insult to Ma Lakshmi and is a dishonor to her.

Friday-Good

Friday is often considered a symbol of glamor. This comes as no surprise as this day is associated with the planet Venus, the planet of beauty. Therefore, cutting hair and nails on this day is auspicious. By doing so, it invites success, money and fame.

Saturday-Bad

Saturday haircut & shaving is treated as Average. Few Shastras don't recommend Cutting & shaving on Saturday. It indicates untimely or sudden death by accident.
