According to Hindu Mythology, the peacock’s feather was created from the bird Gadhura – the carrier bird of Lord Vishnu. Lord Krishna, in the Hindu Mythology, is also known to wear the peacock feathers on his head and also ties them on his flute. In one incident, as Lord Krishna was playing a melody on his flute, the peacocks around the place got so attracted to it they gathered around him and began dancing in joy and excitement. As an offering, the peacocks presented Lord Krishna with some of their feathers. Krishna wore the feathers and accepted the gift with humble gratitude.
